What's with the star (asterisk) in the title?

What's with that? I see it everywhere concerning the film.

Usually it's seen when you buy a toy or electrical product that needs batteries. There's a footnote in the form of an asterisk next to the product name or description. Then usually in small print, next to the asterisk, it'll say batteries are not included, in the box. I'm guessing that's what the movie title refers to, because the robots in the movie need power to run.

when you look at a label of soemthing, or even a resturaunt menu, they'll have astricks next to something, which means that there's a footnote at the bottom of the page.

Brand New Tickle Me Elmo*!!!

Sings and dances just like you!

*Batteries not included.

It's a typical footnote found on electronic devices packaging or advertisements;

For example, the advertisement for a portable CD/MP3 player might reveal:

Requires 2 AA Batteries*

And then down below, will be the related (asterisk)'ed footnote:

*batteries not included
