James Horner's score

I've noticed the score for Batteries Not Included is, in parts, nearly identical to both Honey, I Shrunk the Kids --- AND The Land Before Time... seeing as Horner composed the scores for all three, it's not all that shocking - but it's interesting to note that all three films came out, roughly, during the same period (87, 88, 89) ----- I'm not pretending to have uncovered some great conspiracy - I just want to express my love for his music...

He actually got sued for the HISTK score along with this one for ripping off someone else who I can't remember... you can't get it in the shops anymore as it is illegal now to make profit on it... Which means the HISTK score is legal to download!!! http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=7d5047d875b3108e15b2897bea7562bb

James Horner DEFINITELY recycles music. Music that isn't even his!

In the 1987 Steven Speilberg movie, "batteries not included" in the scene where the tenants are falling off to sleep and the little saucers first appear, Horner has stolen music from Prokofiev's score for Cinderella the ballet!

22 minutes into the film where Frank is in the kitchen and he smashes the dishes Horner steals theme music from The Summer Fairy variation (1:26 to 1:43)When that scene changes to Faye sleeping in bed, the shot opens to the music of entrance of the Beggar-Woman Fairy Appears. Music from the same track is also heard when the first saucer finds an outlet to plug into, and when the lights start to flicker. When Faye wakes to the disturbance, Horner has also managed to use music from the section in the ballet where Cinderella also awakes and she remembers the Ball, and he does so for mostly the entire scene!

Taking advantage of a beautiful ballet score and it's unfamiliarity with the Hollywood public is a very disappointing and embarassing. Hope you are doing well with the cash for your creative original scores, and how bout the success with them Avatar Blu-Rays eh, Horner???
