Rude graffiti on wall in opening credits

It surprises me that the British censors only gave it a PG or didn't demand they cut it. When the old woman is walking through the streets at the beginning of the film a wall has "for a good blow job call" spray painted on it. You've got to remember how censorious the BBFC were years ago. I never thought the words "blow job" would get into a PG.

Don't forget the nude painting of Marisa. Today they would not show that in a PG movie. They would just imply it by the character's reaction.

PG-13 was fairly new then (only three years since its introduction in 1984) so the MPAA weren't as strict. That same year (1987), Adventures in Babysitting was released and it was rated PG-13 even though it had a couple *beep* *beep* *beep* and sexual innuendos (e.g. the running joke with the Playboy magazine, underage drinking at the frat party, 14-year-old Darryl getting seduced by a college girl at said party, scenes involving street gangs and the mob). Today, those *beep* would automatically give it an R-rating, so they would use a milder alternative and the other stuff would be very toned down and bowdlerized.
