Imaginarium Idiom

This film presents a very alternative view of human contact with other forms of intelligence, a view that is shared perhaps only by James Cameron's intelligence-silhouette film "The Abyss" (1989).

An affable group of mixed Americans, including senior citizens, encounter a strange alien species that seems to be mechanical and miniature, stirring their curiosities about animation, emotion, and friendship.

You know, Americans make the best consumer electronics batteries in the world (i.e., Energizer, Duracell, etc.).

I wouldn't be surprised if an anthropology/archaeology teacher in the future records the celebration of the Smithsonian Institution (a populism-friendly modern-era science exploratory museum and recreation center) and suggests that a Hollywood (USA) film poster of "*batteries not included" (1987) represents our era's 'academic' investments in 'portable art.'

This would be a terrific re-make project for Hollywood, perhaps featuring a populism-friendly actor such as Kevin Kline or Tom Selleck.
