I think that you can view episodes of the show at the Museum of TV and Radio in Beverly Hills and in New York City. I have never seen it available on VHS or DVD and I imagine that it never will be.
sharei think our only chance to see this great show again will be in a few years time when downloading shows becomes VERY common and the networks (in this case, nbc) put their entire back catalog online for purchase. it's only a matter of time.

shareHow good is the quality? I know this show is from the 80's and don't expect a VHS copy to be spectacular, but this is likely the only option for watching the show.

Here is the address for the very page that you can purchase a 13 disc DVD set of AYITL. I have it myself and sent away for the series from New Zealand, it got to me in good order, the images are OK on most of the programmes but some of them are quite spotty. The 3 part movie is especially spotty but I also found a DVD copy of the movie part with True TV Movies which is much better.
True TV Movies only has a copy of the movie part of AYITL at $25, they also have so many other rare and hard to find programmes.
I have the email of the seller for the whole series I will let him know you are interested.
