Region 4 (Australia/Pacfic) DVD boxset collection release announced

Attention all Aussie fans of Tour of Duty,

According to PopScreen.com.au (the DVD division of Shock Entertainment), it will be releasing a complete Tour of Duty boxset collection, featuring all the original music and the three documentaries, 'The Making of Tour of Duty', 'Back to the Jungle' and 'The Final Season':

As indicated on the site, it appears that ScreenPop is taking Fabulous Films' collection and making it available in Region 4. It mentions that it will have the documentaries and that it will have the original music.

The release date is 2 October 2013 but you can already pre-order through its website and other websites, such as Fishpond.com.au.

This is great news. The UK version must have sold well and is now being expanded into Region 4

I cannot get this in Canada. I WANT IT!

Well, I don't know if Sony is going to re-release the series on DVD again in the US and Canada. I know the DVDs released in 2005 had none of the original music or any extra features, which really does suck. I would have thought they would have at least done something with Vietnam veterans in mind.

The Region 2 (UK/Europe) DVD boxset has all the original music, plenty of extra features and the documentaries.

If you have a multi-region DVD player or manage to de-code your DVD player to be multi-region (very easily done - instructions for many DVD players are available online), you might want to consider just getting the Region 2 boxset through Amazon.co.uk:

That's what I did. It is definitely something for collectors and fans to treasure always, and its an awesome tribute to this incredible show.'

By the way, I'm still going to get a Region 4 boxset when it comes out - one to watch and one to keep safe lol

Yeah, would be glad to support the show but to be honest looked for an online rip last night just cuz I wanna see that original music and the documentary sssooooo badly. Can't find anything, so I will probably buy the region restricted box set and get myself a DVD player and try to figure it out. Hope I can plug it all into a Canadian TV hahaha.

Is this with original music?

Please say yes...

Its just so broken without it.But i guess something is better than nothing,I will purchase regardless.

@another poster,It CAN be found in the bowels of the internet, but the quality is pretty sub par.

According to the link above, it will have the original music and the three documentaries.

I have the Region 2 DVD box set, which it seems this Region 4 set will copy, and it is incredible. A real treasure for any Tour of Duty fan.

This is great news! All of those who have a multi-region player you can watch it! Most dvds now are multiregion.

I got a copy of the limited edition Region 4 box set of Tour of Duty. As a bit of a review, I think that they got things right this time.

Firstly and most importantly, the DVDs are identical to the Region 2 box set released by Fabulous Films, complete with all the original music (no need for replacement discs), the three documentaries and all the extras. No need to fix something that was already fantastic.

However, a nice touch is that the three seasons come in an actual metal box (it's 20.5cm x 14cm x 4cm or 8" x 5.5" x 1.6"), just how it should be. They obviously listened to the fan feedback from the Region 1 and 2 releases.

The only differences are that the booklets do not have as many photos as the Region 2 releases, and the DVD covers are different:

Season One:

Season Two:

Season Three:

The individual season sets have been on sale since 1 March 2014.

Overall, it's slightly more than the Region 2 box set but it's a great collectible box set for Aussie fans.

If you do not already have the Region 2 boxset, I recommend getting the Region 4 boxset.
