All Good Things last? That was one of the best series finales of any show. To each theys own, I guess.

I didn't hate it; it's just my least favorite. It was interesting to take a peek in the future of the characters but, other than that, I found it kinda lethargic.

I like "Farpoint" except for Q suddenly appearing on the Bridge at less then six minutes into the debut episode. The viewer is just introduced to some of the main characters of the series when this goofy super-being appears and, soon after, teleports them to some zany trial amidst cartoonish barbarian spectators. This part of the story is awkwardly placed and doesn't fit the purpose of a pilot (of course Roddenberry was forced to add it to Dorothy Fontana's original story in order to make it into a double episode at the coercion of studio execs). The Q story would've worked (with the kinks worked out) as, say, the 17th episode, but definitely not the way it was clumsily shoehorned into the premiere episode.

I didn't care much for Farpoint myself either.
