No British Pakistanis or travellers in this innacurate portrayal of Oxon
If you are non-Western European and think Oxford is still mostly white British, then google Asian ring Oxford

And?
"'tler"
It's hard to tell with all the tourists milling around.
shareSo, what's your point? Write a story about British Pakistanis living in Oxford, then. The field is free, you should make a great success...
The Morse series runs from 1987. I was in Oxford at that time and the show is accurate.
I suggest you visit Oxford now, the Demographic is completely different. Your question gives the impression you have not.
Why try to turn the discussion of what was a damn good series, (and even better novels) into racial politics.
Fin Tutuola: "You have the right to an attorney and if you throw up in my car, I'll kill ya"
This is what I thought. It was a show of its time. If you want an England crawling with immigrants, you want one more in the future.
What I hate is the fake Englands of yore that have black and Pakistani courtiers because it's supposed to be hip, slick, and cool. It looks fake, forced, and foolish.
The most remarkable thing about Morse is that, wherever he goes in oxford, he never has any trouble parking. Oxford is not like that, and wasn't in 1987.
shareNot only does he never have any trouble, he always manages to park in the best spot available, right in front of where he needs to go!
shareI've seen this story line in another series. It has stayed with me for years. HORRIBLE
