Not serving alcohol at the Smash Club was the stupidest idea ever

That basically closed down the Smash Club to anyone out of high school (why would a college kid go to a club where they couldn't get beer?) so therefore Jesse's target audience was basically children in Middle School and High School (Parents aren't going to allow Elementary Kids to go to a club after school unsupervised). This means the earliest he could open up was 4PM. Now most kids have after school activities after school (sports, clubs, jobs) so that shuts down a huge demographic and on top of that most parents are going to want their kids to do their HW after school so that shuts down another huge demographic. No matter what Jesse is going to have to close up around 8PM because the kids are going to have to go home for dinner. Not to mention the fact that Middle and High School kids typically don't have any money!!!

In reality the Smash Club would have gone out of business inside of a month, another really stupid Full house moment.

reply

Well the opening of the smash club also featured people expecting to see R.E.M. and instead had to watch three short skirt wearing senior citizen rockabillies doing a poor cover of Devo's "Whip It". And somehow everyone there was cool with that. Think pretty much everything about the Smash Club required a suspension of disbelief.

reply

Yes Rene, Esther and Martha, and for some reason everyone seemed to like it.

The entire Smash Club plot line was stupid and out of the realm of reality. A place like that never would have stayed in business longer than a month. Not to mention that Jesse did a pathetic job stating his case to the loan lady (Elenor Cooke), he didn't have a clue what he was talking about and then his dumbass thought she actually would have been impressed if he memorized a 1000 page code book.

reply

Yeah well the show's target audience was mainly preteens and young teens so plots passing the logic tests of adult men probably wasn't high on their list of priorities.

reply

I'm talking about within the context of the show, there is no way a lame ass business like the Smash Club wouldn't have gone bankrupt very soon. The only time he could legitimately bring in business would be M-F 4-8PM to kids who have: No HW, No Jobs, No afterschool activities, and then on Saturday for anyone who felt like going.

This show was mindless and moronic.

reply

I'm not disagreeing that it was a poor business model. But most of the plots on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel shows are illogical as well. Even though this was on ABC, FH is basically a kids' show and it's going for laughs from a particular audience that doesn't require sound logic behind its scripts.

reply

That’s not the topic of this thread.

reply

Just having a friendly conversation dude....didn't realize we couldn't branch out as to why a show may be written a certain way (i.e. to appeal to a specific audience). That's been my previous experience as to how message boards work. My bad.

So here you go: Yes you are correct. It was a poor business model the smash club had, it likely wouldn't have been able to sustain itself. I agree with everything you are saying about the smash club.

Feel better?

reply

Much better.

reply

Hippo actually loves full house. It’s his world

reply

When have I ever given any indication that is the case????

Also please stay on topic and don’t hijack or troll my thread. Thank you

reply

You’ve seen every single episode multiple times that much is clear

reply

Actually all ages clubs exist all over the world and are quite popular . They have nights for everyone where no alcohol is served or you need a wrist band . Some days they have board game nights or Disney trivia nights for kids , sometimes they are a night club

reply

Wouldn’t you care to share one? And it doesn’t count if it’s one of those clubs who only don’t serve alcohol during certain hours.

reply

There is one right by my house . During the day it’s a nice family restutaunt where you can adopt animals and at night it’s an all ages club where parents can bring their kids and dance and there is live music and story time

reply

First of all that’s not a club that’s a restaurant and secondly I’m not buying that the adults aren’t allowed to order beer.

It also sounds like a place that has a little something for everyone, adults and children. Jesse specifically said the smash club was for kids.

reply

The place I’m referring to couldn’t get a liquor licence . Those work different in every city .

reply

Again you’ve failed to present a legit equivalency. You said this place also had animals, that is something parents are going to want to take their kids to see, smash club didn’t have that. Even if I give you the no alcohol concession you still have yet to prove your point

reply

My point is all ages clubs can exist with no alcohol. You’re forgetting one thing

reply

You haven’t proven that a club synonymous with the smash club could exist. Again your restaurant has something for everyone. Jesse specifically targeted the smash club to children, and while I’m on the subject, children in the 90s would never have been interested in Jesses lame ass doo wop band

reply

Nope he targeted it to everyone . All you’re focusing on is alcohol

reply

Watch the episode again he specifically said he wanted to introduce a new generation of KIDS to his music, also how many adults do you legitimately know who are going to want to go out on a Saturday night and just drink soda? Maybe there are some but it can’t be a very profitable demographic

reply

You’re forgetting he knows the beach boys

reply

So they are going to give up their careers to play at the smash club every night? Come on man that is a really stupid idea even for full house

reply

No but they will do it the first night to get people in the door

reply

Ok first of all kids in the 90s were never going to go crazy over The Beach Boys, their parents would, secondly what about every other night? The hype would die down as quick as it began

reply

Danny Jesse and Joey were all local celebrities Jesse and Joey ran a very popular kids show

reply

Lol kids don’t watch morning talk shows, joeys show was for baby’s and he lost that jb st the beginning of season 6,Jesse got the smash club in season 7

reply

Clearly you don’t remember the rush hour renegades

reply

So they are going to go to a club because the owner is on the radio? I think you’re trolling me, I’d appreciate it if you would stop or I am going to report you to the moderators

reply

No, they are on a radio station where they can promote a club like that .

reply

So just because you have the power to advertise means people will automatically buy shit?

reply

It helps most good!

reply

You and I both know that after their first visit to the club they'd realize what a joke it is and never come back.

reply

That's the thing in the hospitallity indistry. You gotta get them in the door then provide them with just excellent customer service and tastey food and snackables
