Was this meant to be a series about Jason?

I don't know where I read it, but I heard this show was meant to involve Jason and crystal lake, but something happened somewhere and the creators of this show could only obtain the rights to use the name ft13th but couldn't use the Jason image, so it went down the road it became instead. Can anyone confirm if that info was legit or just something someone made up?

Nope. The show was supposed to be name "The 13th Hour". But it was changed on purpose to draw in the fans of the movies. Some of the cast and crew worked on both the series and movies. There was a rumor that the final episode was going to bring Jason into the series by having them going after the hockey mask. But I don't think there was any truth to it.
