Season 1 VS Season 2

Is it just me or is Season 1 much better than season 2? (I'm not bringing Season 3 into this because I have not seen it yet) In season 2 it felt like they just stumbled upon the antique more than anything else. To me the show was better written during the first season as far as encountering the antiques and what the antiques were. Watching season 2 it seems most of the antiques are trinkets or trinket sized. However what I liked least (and this may have been due to budgetary cut backs) about season 2 is it seemed either Micki, Jack or Ryan were on a trip some where. I loved the 3 of them working together but i felt that didn't happen enough in Season 2 (nothing like what we had in Season 1) What did you think? Did season 2 fall short for you compared to season 1 or was Season 2 much better suited to your tastes?

I liked Season 2, but Season 1 is my favorite season. The first season had the best episodes, in my opinion.

However, I did not like Season 3. It bored me.

I'm going to say season 2 was better. I really felt the three of them really hit their stride in season 2 plus that season had more of my favorite episodes 19, compared to just 12 from season 1.

I'm in the minority here, but I'd rank all 3 seasons equally. All of them contained some great episodes, as well as some clunkers.

Season 1 has more warmth due to the focus on the main characters (Micki, Ryan, and Jack)

Season 2 loses some of that intimacy

Nearly through Season 2 now, been some good episodes but as someone said before me there was more warmth with the characters in the first, the chemistry between Mickie and Ryan was also better.

Well, the early season one episodes sometimes had a clunkiness to them that pretty much all early season one episodes of any show has as the writers are finding their way and the actors are figuring out their characters and whatnot.

I would say season one had a bit more attention to detail with them working out cover stories and explanations on how they do things and less just showing up and getting involved without any kind of cover story or anything.

Of course if the show was done today it would probably be a bit different as it's a harder to buy, in today's world, that antique store owners could just involve themselves in murders and investigations without, at least, the police starting to get suspicious.

Today they would have to have cover stories, maybe alias, maybe disguise and such. Still, I liked that they didn't go the way of say the later "Poltergeist: The Legacy" where they were part of some group with mansions, a millions of dollars and all that.

Sorry to ramble but yeah I would say season two was less detail oriented and tried to give characters more camera time at the cost of other characters (always having or two being away). I think that might have worked better if maybe they had followed up on what the other character or characters were doing (either in the same episode or in the following episode) and yeah they needed more episodes where they were all in it at the same time.
