They should remake this.

It was a cool concept for a horror series.Although i would suggest a different title since this has nothing to do with Friday the 13th.Even calling it Fridays curse makes no sense since.Curious goods would be a more fitting title IMO.

Honestly, I think they were kind of counting on the title getting people's attention, sort of getting their foot in the door (so to speak).

I wouldn't be opposed to renaming it "Curious Goods" but I don't know about a remake so much as say a continuation with some of the originals and some new characters introduced in the first episode.

I know, last time I saw anything of Chris Wiggins, he still looked pretty good for his age. He might not be as up for some of the physical stuff as he was then but they could just put that on the younger cast.

I have a sense Miki would be a no show since, in real life, I heard she married some minor royal guy or something and probably wouldn't be into it (other than maybe a small part).

I'm sure Johnny would be up for it since I don't think he's doing anything and a slightly younger actor playing a re-aged Ryan would work as well (for the bridge between old and new).

John D. Lemay is the original, and helped the success of the show that first (crucial) season, as well as the second season. John D. Lemay should definitely be the one playing Ryan Dallion. That's who the fans want to see. It would not be the same with another actor. This is a supernatural/magical show, meaning anything is possible. If Micki can be brought back from the dead, surely Ryan can be turned back to his original age. So therefore it's very possible for Ryan to be the same age as Micki.

Fans want to see Louise Robey and John D. Lemay reunited. These are the originals. They are Micki and Ryan; the heart/core of the show. It was the chemistry of these two actors, along with their chemistry with Chris Wiggins, that made the show a hit and beloved by fans. If anyone is not needed, it's Steve Monarque (Johnny). He is not an original cast member and his character was not as crucial to the story. Plus, the chemistry was not as good when he joined the show. Sadly, Chris Wiggins passed away, so the beloved Jack won't be able to appear, but the remaining two original core actors, John D. Lemay and Louise Robey, should definitely be included. The story is about Micki and Ryan, afterall, not Micki and Johnny.

I don't think the OP is "hung up" or saying that anything related to Friday the 13th in life *has* to be connected to Jason. The fact is that 99% of humanity not living under a rock associates Friday the 13th with Jason, whether it makes sense or whether the films and character have anything to do with the origins or not, so he's just saying that it may be confusing or misleading for people. And the series absolutely only used that title BECAUSE of the film series and they knew people would tune in because they thought it would be connected to the films somehow. It's a cool show on its own but I doubt it would've gone as far as it did if it were called Friday's Curse or Curious Goods or anything else.

Kinda like Bates Motel. It's not more than 5% connected with the film, but if they hadn't called it Bates Motel it's unlikely that it would have gone anywhere.

It wasn't me who was murdered, was it?

I really enjoy this series but I'd much prefer a brand new horror anthology (like Tales From the Crypt on HBO in the 90's) than a remake of what we have here already, warts n' all. More times than not it loses something in the translation: style, charm, whatever.
