Favorite Episode

My favorite episode is called 'Eye of Death'. It was based on a cursed Civil War era magic lantern that could enable time travel to the time shown in the projected image, requiring a murder for each leg of the trip.

I think I'd go with The Quilt of Hathor, Scarecrow, What a Mother Wouldn't Do, and Vanity's Mirror. Also, Tails I Live, Heads You Die has a good cult plot and Double Exposure has a great premise.

They lost a lot of energy partway into season two. Though I continued to enjoy the show, most of my favourites are from season one.

I loved the first two seasons with Ryan, Micki, and Jack, but most of my favorites are from the first season as well.

I've just watched "Symphony in B#," which is a nod to "Phantom of the Opera" with some great music. It's by far the best episode I've seen so far, but I have many more to go.

I love the fact that all of these episodes are mini-movies that your schedule perfectly if you don't have time for a complete movie. The different supporting players with each episode also give the series a lot of variety.

I'm going with Better Off Dead. I remember watching that one first-run, and it was, of course, the only episode preceded by a warning for violent content. It was a very unsettling episode. And watching Micki rage and drool like a lunatic was definitely a highlight.

Runners up would be Hate on Your Dial and ...And Now the News.

What a Mother Wouldn’t Do, Vanity’s Mirror/Face of Evil, The Inheritance, Midnight Riders, Jack-in-the-Box, Double Exposure, Crippled Inside, Night Prey, Shadow Boxer

"Brain Drain" is my favourite so far. I loved the mad scientist premise and creepy artifact, and it was interesting to hear about Jack's past and meet his old flame. It also has nostaligic value for me since it was filmed at the ROM!

"What a Mother Wouldn't Do" is definitely my favorite episode. Such a tragic story.

My favorite episode is "Hate on your Dial". It is sad that the son is killed by his father.

I can't really pick a favorite exactly (I love all of them for one reason or another) but the one I'm most wanting to see again and don't have right now is "The Long Road Home". I actually saw it again a few years ago on SyFy and it sticks in my mind because it's just so classic 80's horror with the killer hillbillies, the taxidermied corpses and all that.

Plus, it takes place, literally, on a dark and stormy night and they have that funky ying yang pendant that allows body swapping, oh and they seriously start the whole Miki/Johnny thing sort of with that underwater kiss/air sharing thing at the start.

Yeah, that one was very "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" among other things. It also started the sort of aborted attempt at a real thing between Miki and Johnny as they had that life saving 'kiss' thing at the start when Johnny was dumped in a swimming pool with a weight tied to him.

I know most people liked Ryan better and that they were only cousins by marriage but if you missed the first episode setting that up and just knew they were cousins and saw the little hints at a romance it could come off as creepy (and not in a good way).

I have the first two seasons on DVD and I really need to get the last one with "Long Way Home" on it. :)

Yeah, that episode had atmosphere in spades. I guess, if its not too late, I should finally get the final season on DVD. I have the first two but they're packed up for my move and I can't get at them right now. :)

I did see that episode a few years back on either SyFy or Chiller, which is why I recall it so well. :)

If I saw little hints of romance between Micki and Ryan, I would assume that they were not blood related and did not grow up together. That they were only in-laws. Micki and Johnny were creepy and awkward together and had no chemistry.

That one is my favorite as well.

A cup of time. VERY 80's fun! the actress playing Lady Di played it so over the top and diva-ish it was just fun!

What a mother wouldn't do. tragic episode. she was so desperate to save her baby, you almost have Sympathy for her, though you know it's wrong. she didn't seem evil just desperate and one of the few that had a 'happy' ending.

Better off dead was just whoaaaaaa! so tragic and so brutal. what he did to Linda! and she could feel it! while Micki had to watch. and Micki going lunatic!

Epitaph for a lonely soul. another sad one, really. this time desperation out of deep Loneliness. Eli so lonely in his life with only the dead for 'company' going to insane lengths for a mate. Steve's loneliness out of losing Lisa and Steve himself losing his life. and Linda Curry brought back after two years. confused, yet remembering. the end with the two girls huddled in the fire knowing they no longer belonged with the living.

Vanity's Mirror. Helen was just creepy! no Sympathy for her from me! she just seemed to have genuine hate and jealousy. I know she was picked on and that is wrong. but man was she mean!

Scarecrow. really spooky and lots of atmosphere. with another truly depraved character. you can't wait to see beheaded!

Crippled inside and Friend to the end. both have Characters you can't help but have pity for.

There is more and I have been watching Alot of them!

It was such a great show and still holds up in my opinion.
Micki seemed to have so much heart for the Victims of the cursed objects and she had so many tragic events happen to her because of them. more so than Ryan, Jack or Johnny.

A close,..extremly close is the one with the scarecrows.. sorr y i forget the name.. but my fave is the Playhouse.

I used to watch this show,, I was a kid when it first aired and that episode was always special to me..gues since I was a kid i could relate the episode with the kids in more... except i was not abused :P

They aired it on Chiller this morning... first time i had seen it in many years... still as good as ever..

I LIVE for 80's Horror!

Long live October 31st

The inheritance
The Playhouse

The stepmother in the inheritance episode was pure evil! You DO NOT treat your husband's child like that! She got exactly what she deserved.

The mom in the Playhouse episode didn't even need her kids. She treated her kids like dirt, hit them and starved them. The worst thing she did was giving their dinner to her boyfriend!
