why the name change?
Fridays Curse? wtf
shareMaybe they have just realized it had nothing to do with the actual Friday the 13th movies all these years later.

shareThat was the name of the series outside of the US.
shareUh, no. It was Friday the 13th: the Series here in Canada. Also, when it aired on A & E in the US in 1993, it was called Friday's Curse.
shareUh, okay. I was just stating what was said in the documentary.
Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Toothed Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!
So, you're a sheep, in other words.
shareI thought that name was just used in the UK during the original run. I guess maybe if some of the stations that play it they can use that title but this is the first I've seen or heard of that happening. It's on SyFy right now and it's still called "Friday the 13th: The Series".
shareNo need to be rude. Generally if there is information like this in a legitimate documentary from those who created the show it's correct. Not sure how someone is a "sheep" for reporting what was said by the creators and producers.
"The cover of this book is so misleading. It never snows like the cover implies that it does."

In Germany, the show was released under the title, "Erben des Fluchs", meaning "Heirs of the Curse" in reference to the show's premise.

Jesus Christ, what a c_ntishly petty, pointlessly hostile response. I wasn't pointing out the language difference, but the fact that the show's German title was solely in reference to its premise, disregarding any relations to the Friday the 13th franchise.
shareI think "Curious Goods" would have been a better title. Provocative with many meanings.
shareIt was always Friday the 13th, the Series. Why change the name at this late date?
shareWhoa. I've never heard of Friday's Curse. At least the forum still reflects the correct name of the series.

"Jason" did not kill anyone in Friday the 13th. You know who it was right? Mrs.Voorhees!! That gets a lot of people.

Yeah, I always thought that, too.

You don't know who told me it was called Friday's Curse?! I saw it on A & E myself back in 1993, you wet-behind-the-ears *beep* I still have the VHS tape! A & E aired back-to-back episodes (Faith Healer and the Electrocutioner) and it was called Friday's Curse. And just for you, you ignorant prick, I just uploaded a portion of that tape to YouTube. Watch it and weep, you *beep* *beep*

Wow! You've got issues dude. Better get out of your mothers basement for some fresh air before you have an aneurism. I'm sure nobody would miss your sorry ass anyways!
shareNah he's pretty funny actually. He's like the bitter old grandpa that sits around yelling at random stuff. He's been like this since at least 2009 when I was more active around this board so I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon.
shareSo far this is the only shred of solid evidence I've seen that the show was known by this alternate title "Friday's Curse". Although your manner is coarse and bafflingly obnoxious, I do thank you for posting this video http://youtu.be/OyT57YAwpPM -- It almost seems like the A&E network got the main titles to the intro WITHOUT the actual words/credits on them, and then made up their own wording (in a markedly different font too), and decided to rename that one-time broadcast with the phrase "Friday's Curse". Either that or a fan with a LOT of video editing experience put that together as a hoax *lol* But no, the show is and will always be known as "Friday The 13th: The Series" and it'd be interesting to know who exactly changed its name here in IDMb on the show's main page. I wonder if a fan with an axe to grind is beind this whole thing...?
shareYou're not getting the point. Friday the 13th: the Series was ALWAYS Friday the 13th: the Series in all of Canada and most of the US (except for when it aired on A & E in Canada and the U.S. as Friday's Curse in 1993), period. Claims to the contrary by twits from the documentary are WRONG.
The A & E clip from my old VHS tape is legit. The font and credits weren't done by A & E. You are fifty shades of clueless. The producers of Friday the 13th: the Series did the new credits and font. Friday the 13th: the Series was released on VHS in the UK as Friday's Curse and you can find those clips on YouTube, as well.
what documentary are you talking about? and you're right - I just searched Amazon UK and found 3 VHS tapes with the name "Friday's Curse" one of which is here: www.amazon.co.uk/Friday-13th-Fridays-Hathor-Awakening/dp/B0054GC4HW - that artwork would be awfully hard to fake, so I guess I'm convinced now! :o I still hugely disagree with whatever ham-handed fan changed the IMDb page from "Friday The 13th The Series" to "Friday's Curse" -- I mean, this is a US website after all, right? not British? here's another one: www.amazon.co.uk/FRIDAYS-CURSE-TALES-UNDEAD-SCARECROW/dp/B010BBAM14
shareThe Crystal Lake Memories documentary is what I am referring to. Some interviewees falsely claim on the documentary that Friday the 13th: the Series was known in Canada during its entire run as Friday's Curse. That's 100% B.S. It was always Friday the 13th: the Series in Canada until the A & E airing in 1993. I watched this show when it was new throughout its entire run.
Again, no fan has the ability to change the name of shows on IMDb. It's a guarantee that this wasn't the work of a fan.

Yup. There are old TV and newspaper articles from the 80s online about its first run in the US, and the show is referred to as Friday the 13th.
shareProbably to differentiate from the new Vorhees-centric "Friday the 13th" show.
shareThey changed it back. Yay!

It's all like some bad movie.
