The new Indy movie and Duck Tales (MILD spoilers)

For those who have seen the new Indy did the portion where they found the lost city of El Dorado (SPOILER) and it's destruction remind you a little bit of the pilot episode of Duck Tales where they found El Dorado?

I've heard that the Scrooge comics had some inspiration on Spielberg as a child, and that Launchpad had a little bit of Indy in him. Is this another nod back?

i actually didn't think about it the time but now that you mention it, it really was similar. i'm fairly certain that indy was a huge inspiration on the cartoon and i'm sure the indy movies were at least sub conciously influenced by ducktales (at least in spirit). nice work.

I'm both an Indy fan and a Ducktales fans, but I didn't think so. In fact, El Dorado means different things to me than Ducktales. However, I do know that Lucas and Spielberg have both been influenced by things that became Ducktales, and vice versa, so I wouldn't be surprised ...

I never think about the future, it comes soon enough

Actually, Lucas has stated (in his Life And Times Of Scrooge introduction) that the Barks comic story 'The Seven Cities Of Cibola' inspired the rolling boulder for 'Raiders Of The Lost Ark'. I suppose this means the comic was read by Lucas and Speilberg in their youth and served inspirations, as well as the French comic Tintin.

There's so much pressure to like monkeys.
