Has anyone else written a DT fanfic?

My reason for writing a fanfic for this show is that boring ungrateful pretty-face Gandra Dee. She's so wrong for Fenton, that I don't even know where to begin describing it. So I just felt I needed to give Fenton a more suitable girlfriend, someone who would have considered a guy like him in real life. And while it took me six years to finally come up with it, I've finally found the right format.

The answer, which finally dawned to me just recently, was to throw Gandra out alltogether and pretend like she never had existed, so another girl could take her place as Fenton's love interest from the beginning. It took me six years to finally get the courage to make such a major change in the DT storyline for a fanfic, but now I will do it, just to show what could have been, if they only had cut down on Gandra's bimboness and given her more of a personality.

Another funny detail about my replacement for Gandra, her name is Darlene McDuck by the way, is that she's Scrooge McDuck's niece (and Donald Duck's and Gladstone Gander's cousin). This gives my version an interesting twist, since it means Fenton works for his girlfriend's uncle, or that Scrooge hired his niece's boyfriend.

I'm in the middle of writing it (my slightly altered version of "Super Duck Tales") right now. I would love to put it up on Fanfiction.net one day, but I have to figure out how to do it first.

And don't feel bad about forgetting about Gandra's existence. She's not that memorable anyway. The writers of "Duck Tales" were usually good at making interesting female characters. Okay, most of them were villains, like Magica deSpell or Ma Beagle, or they had other big flaws, like Fenton's mum. But they had also created at least two "good" female characters, who both were more interesting than what Gandra was: Mrs Beakly and Webby. But they somehow failed miserably with Gandra, especially considering the good job they had made with Fenton, who was supposed to be her boyfriend. It was like they thought "a girl has to be a Barbie doll, or no guy, not even a geek like Fenton, will like her". What a nice message to the other 90 % of the female population...

Is Gladstone really Scrooge's nephew? I know he calls Scrooge "Uncle Scrooge" but that doesn't really prove anything. My next door neighbor's son used to call me "Uncle John" just because he liked me.

That sounds like a cool fanfic. If I personally was going to write a fanfic, it would be about Bubba the cave duck. He was my favorite character.

That depends on which version of the comics you read. According to Don Rosa, Scrooge and Gladstone aren't blood relatives. (Scrooge is Donald's uncle on his mother's side, while Gladstone is his cousin on his father's side.) But in the Italian comics, that I'm more familiar with, it seems like they're both Scrooge's blood nephews. And even Carl Barks himself had a story, that was about how Scrooge wanted to give Donald and Gladstone a company each, so he could who was the best business man and should take over his businesses one day. He would hardly have given the two the same chances, if they hadn't both been his nephews. On the other hand, I believe Scrooge once called Gladstone "my distant nephew" in a Carl Barks story, which makes it sound like he wasn't as closely related to him as he was to Donald. "Duck Tales" was very vague on this subject. Gladstone was never an important character there anyway. I believe he only was in two episodes? But in my version, Scrooge had three sisters. One is Donald's mother, one is Gladstone's mother and one is Ludwig von Drake's wife. He also had a brother, who was Darlene's father. I'm taking a few liberties here, of course, but in some Italian stories, Scrooge does a have a brother named Gideon! Maybe he is Darlene's father.

That sounds like a cool fanfic. If I personally was going to write a fanfic, it would be about Bubba the cave duck. He was my favorite character.

Hmmm... Maybe I should include Bubba in my fanfic, a little bit anyway. I hadn't planned to do it, as my story would be based on "Super Duck Tales", where Bubba is missing. But on the other hand, Fenton and Bubba do meet each other in my parallell universe. So maybe Bubba should be included in my story, at least as much as Huey, Dewie and Louie are.

Ya know, I just had a thought. Why don't you write a fanfic that uses those two scenes I mentioned in the other thread? It could be the same episode even. They've gone to outer space and under the sea in at least one multiple-part episode.

Hello again! I'm just bumping this thread to say, that while I haven't worked as much on my story as I should have, I've now completed the first chapter, and I'm starting on the second chapter tomorrow.

If anyone is interested, I have completed 39 chapters of my Scrooge McDuck book called..."Scrooge McDuck And The Secret Of The Black Flame". I will finish it this week. Then I am starting on the next installment, "Scrooge McDuck And The Staff Of Kings".

That's great!

Unfortunately, I'm still only on the second chapter of my story, but I'm on it.
