I love this show, but......

Don't get me wrong. I loved this show when I was a kid, and even now at age 31, it still remains as one of my top favorite shows of all time.

However, did you ever notice that Scrooge frequently puts his love of money ahead of the safety of Huey, Dewy and Louie? I don't mean bringing them on the missions, that was the whole point. However, on the missions, Scrooge deliberately endangers the three boys to get to the money, or even to save his existing fortune. It's like the money means more to him than his three nephews. Risking his own life for the treasure is one thing, but risking the lives of three 10 year old boys is something else entirely. What kind of a message is this sending? Money should mean more to you than the people you love....

That's a problem in our society. People care more about their jobs, which could replace them in a matter of days, than they care about their families, which could NEVER replace them.

Actually, I saw it the other way around. As much as Scrooge loved money, he loved his nephews even more. But then, I haven't seen much of season 1.

Yes, it's true! IMDB has reached Sweden!

reply

Well, in a couple of the episodes, the boys were trapped in a dangerous situation with the money, and Scrooge was working on the problem from the outside. He would always say something like "I've gots to save me money!!!" It was like the fact that Huey, Dewy and Louie were trapped in the battleground meant nothing to him. Maybe that's just my perception of it.

Like I said, that must have been 1rst season, because he would never do anything like that in the 2nd season.

True, Ducktales will always have a spot in my Top 10, but it won't be my favorite Disney series. I like others such as Talespin, Gummi Bears & Rescue Rangers better. The heroes in them especially Rescue Rangers are easier to root for, the guest characters are more interesting and the jokes are funnier. But that's just my opinion.

I do believe that the whole meaning itself was showing how taking care of the triplets changes Scrooge's life and the way he looks at things like money. In the beginning of the show, he didn't care about the kids at all, but as it kept going, he started to care more and more about them.

reply

Yeah, that's right. He changed already during the first episode.

Woah, theez14... put a cork in it... it sounds like your dying.
Get your points across in a more civilized way, like everyone else here.

The only thing that I will put a cork in, is your butt so you can never crap again. Why should I be civilized when I got Chester the molester talking crap about Scrooge? And P.S. I am a little sick and tired of the board not acknowledging officially how unbelievable "Treasure of the Golden Suns" is....I am starting to believe that you aren't DT fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe what you want to believe... true fans of any show/movie/actor/character should not have to justify themselves to you, of all people.
- If you are going to touch basis on how unbelievable the "Treasure of the Golden Suns" is, I invite you to identify which episode is 100% believable. It is a show for children that I assume most of us here grew up with... it was to spark our childhood imaginations... if the episodes were entirely believable, the show would be pretty boring for most kids.

Hey stupid face:

What I meant by saying how Treasure of the Golden Suns is unbelievable is that it is AWESOME...I truly contend that it is the greatest 5 part story arc in the history of modern television....HOW DARE YOU INSINUATE THAT I WOULD NOT BE BEHIND DUCKTALES WITH MY WHOLE HEART AND SOUL!!!!!!!

Literally where do you live? I am going to punch you in the gut so hard that you have diarrhea for a week!

Honestly, your passion for DuckTales is a tad scary and more than a little pathetic. I loved the show growing up, and I still love it. But it's been twenty years. Let's move on, shall we?

Insert witty comment here.

Let's move on? Move on from what? Greatness?

When you get to the pinnacle of the mountain, which DuckTales did, why would I want to leave the summit? Maybe you are content with mediocrity in your life, but I prefer to stay great 24/7...and that means I watch nothing but DuckTales and Growing Pains whenever it's TV time.

The rest of my day consists of going to work and working out...something that a fat slob like yourself wouldn't understand. Seriously sweater weather is over, we all know you are fat, put the hoodie away.

You make me want to throw up.
