You know how there are characters you "love to hate"?

Quinn's not one of them for me. I just plain hate her. I hate her so much I am afraid that I won't even be able to like any characters in other shows who are played by Rena Sofer.

If I let that happen, do you know how many shows that I couldn't enjoy?! It's just acting and it means that she's doing a damned good job of it. Rena, guest starred as Snow White's mother on Once Upon a Time and it was a sweet, queenly part and now she's playing Quinn on B&B...she has a wonderful range.

I normally don't have a problem separating an actor and a character, but I hate this character SO much that I am afraid it may spill over on to the actor.

I kind of love to hate Quinn, but I feel like it's more that I'm so used to hating her that I'm resistant to any "change" and ignore it (none of her "changes" have lasted in the past). Oddly enough I hate most of the other characters, but I side more with them depending on who's in conflict (e.g. with the Eric and Quinn thing, I don't like the Forresters or Quinn, but I enjoy seeing the drama so I enjoyed that they chose not to go to the wedding).

I was not a Sofer fan when she played on GH, but everyone else loved her and the character she played. I think her name was Lois.

I don't care for Quinn either, but it has nothing to do with Sofer, but just the character herself.

I can't believe the number of viewers who are rooting for her over the Forrester family. If Eric wasn't rich and powerful, Quinn wouldn't be giving him the time of day.

It's just a matter of time before Eric can't 'satisfy' her in bed and she'll be sleeping with Deacon or someone else younger than Eric. And poor Eric will be locked in a shed or buried alive in a cemetery with his family desperately looking for him.

I really really don't think the Eric thing is about money for Quinn. I don't entirely trust her motives but she is hardly a struggling business woman. She has been quite successful in her own way. IF she does have other motives for Eric, I think it is more of her wanting to be part of the family (and closer to Steffy and Wyatt). I really think she loves Eric as much as she knows how to love someone, but it is only a matter of time before it all comes crumbling down and she is back to crazy town.

reply

I will be soooooo disappointed if this turns into her having been in it for the money or power.

reply

Me too! I really feel that Quinn genuinely loves Eric.

I just watched today's episode, and I just came here to post how much I hate Ridge and Steffy, especially Ridge!

There aren't really any characters that I like much right at the moment, but Quinn is the only one I actually wish would leave the show entirely before I develop an aversion to the actor herself. I have never liked Katie at all (NEVER), but I saw Heather Tom on something else and she didn't bother me. I did see Rena Sofer on something else not too long ago and managed to kind of like her, but that could change.

I have disliked Thorsten Kaye as NuRidge since Day 1, but I truly hate him now. I had never seen him in anything before he took over the role of Ridge, so I will always dislike him. I saw Rena Sofer in many things before she came on as Quinn, and I always loved her. Quinn has been a character that I have loved to hate some, but mostly loved.

I have seen TK in other roles before becoming Ridge. I really couldn't stand him then in those roles ... but I have to say that after seeing him on B&B involved in this particular plot, I can't stand him even worse now than I did on the other soaps.

He comes off too pompous and has no form of elegance about him as Ron Moss did in the role.

Yes, I concur.

With Quinn it's the opposite for me.

I'm actually wanting to love to hate her but instead I'm hating to like her.

Why can't they writer her being bitchy back to Ridge?

I hate all this sugary coat they're giving her.

She doesn't do damsel very well.

Show us some sparks instead! That's the Quinn I want to see.

reply

Steffy is the kind of character I love to hate. Ridge is just a character that I absolutely hate to see on screen. I get no enjoyment out of anything he's involved in. Even though I didn't hate him as much back then, I didn't like him when Ron Moss played him either. I find him to be much worse now. I hate his character so much that I can't put B&B on if I'm in a bad mood because I know he will put me in an even worse mood. That may be crazy, but it's true.

I feel the exact same way. It is a bad day every time I see that smug jerk Ridge.

My opinions on characters tend to vary based on the storylines. For example I've almost always hated Steffy, but I was able to tolerate her last year; likewise I used to like Ivy until she started the flirtation with Thomas. (I'm now back to liking Ivy and hating Steffy LOL)

Ridge is the only character on the show that I never waiver on. I have never enjoyed watching him.

reply

I actually did like Ridge off and on when Ronn Moss played him. I have disliked NuRidge since Day 1, and wish that he would vamoose forever!

This is essentially how I feel. I dislike most of the characters but depending on storylines I'll tend to prefer one or another, such as how I kinda liked Liam when he was escaping Quinn and everything came out but I don't typically call him a favorite or anything.

I have never liked ridge either. the only time he was tolerable when he was with taylor before her 2002 death and this last time with caroline; however, his constant putting his mother before brooke, wafflin, and egomaniac outbursts have always gotten on my nerves. thorsten is doing an excellent job taking over for ronn. both growl when talking and both believe they are the best thing around.

I have loved rena sofer since she played eve on melrose place and when she played jack bauer's sister-in-law on 24. i love the complexity that is quinn. not a true fan of the character but I really do like seeing what quinn will do next. she is better than the majority of wooden characters on this show.

I never liked Quinn. And I don't mean it in a love to hate way. I found her to be annoying and as a matter of fact this is the only time I like seeing her in a storyline getting pushed around by the Forresters. But as for Quinn or should I say the actress, she as clear as day be as-libbing most of her lines. When the woman is yelling or raising her voice she stumbles and fumbles over everything. WAY TOO NOTICABLE.

Also, you have a number of other characters on the show but Quinn is seen pretty much everyday! Let's rotate some of these people!
