Katie's new house

Is it just me or is it realistic that this house would be beside the Forrester mansion?

I honestly thought at first they were ending their tour of the house and we were seeing them in the rec room of the basement or something simualar. Also, didn't she just recieve 50 million in her divorce, not to mention child support from Bill Spencer. So why was she so concerned about staying in her price range?

From what we have seen I am precieving this house to be very small and way beneath her and that neighborhood.

I thought the same thing. Is this supposed to be the whole house? It looks like a guest house. They can't think we're going to buy that this house would be next door to the Forrester's mansion! How stupid are these writers?

I am always pissed about their poor set designs so I was thrilled to see a new space! In my experience the mansions in the Hollywood hills are vastly different from the neighboring homes due to different architects and these aren't created as "developments" so no cookie-cutter styles like us peasants lol!!
I didn't look too closely but it reminded me of a clean midcentury modern style house with rich hardwood with simple and slim design. It's a classic look in my opinion -much more so than the "Greco-Roman style with pillars" Forrester Mansion with it's stucco walls, faux marble, awful green fake plants inside and oversized 80s/90s furniture and ZERO technology in the house at all.
Katie's new place has potential. It seemed slapped together but with a midcentury vibe that I think can create a really cool new set. I'm hoping for a portion of a wall with an awesome poppy red1960s pattern-think MadMen when they moved to the new office.

I believe it is the Forrester 'guest house'. That's the main reason Quinn freaks out about it.

I don't think it is the guest house. The Forrester guest house is presumably on Forrester property- quite a large estate I imagine. They keep referring to this house as the neighbors house. In fact Rick said he had friends that lived there growing up and spent a lot of time playing there.

Why isn't Rick looking for a home for himself and his own family? Are they still living with his mommy?

HAHA true that, and a very good question. But let's not go crazy. It has taken THIS long for B&B to spring for a new set, it may be a bridge too far to expect them to come up with 2 new sets.

reply

Oh so true - it looks horrendous and actually like a redo of Quinn's efficiency apt.

I was sooooo lookin forward to seein Katies new place but THIS SUCKS, I guess all soaps have shrinking budgets no matter if your the #2 soap.

I dont buy this is next to the Forresters and couldnt they put a back drop instead of those fake trees so we could see that great view!

Id more buy Nick Marones old house set next to this! Looks like a place Carter would live at.

It can't be the Forrester guest house because of what Rick had told Katie about visiting a friend there and because Eric and Quin offered the guest house to Wyatt when they asked him to move in.

It makes sense for Rick to not go house hunting just yet. If his mother marries Bill, then her house will be vacant. However, with Ridge being homeless and trying to mess up Brooke's upcoming marrige, if she chooses him, Rick will need to go out house shopping.

However, that being said, I am sure that is how Rick comforts Mya. "Don't worry Pookie, my mom really can't be without a man. Chances are the next one will have his own place and this can all be ours"

I actually thought Katie was standing in the real estate office. It sure doesn't look like a mansion in Beverly Hills. What a joke.

The furniture is very retro it felt like they took the props from the show "Mad Men." Doesn't look all that spectacular.
