Steffy is.........

.......blinded by her own ambition, and Eric is playing on that. It is utterly pathetic how they are BEGGING this woman on Wyatt's behalf. What man would seriously want a woman he had to beg away from his own Brother, a Brother he knew she had been deeply in love with for YEARS, and only resorted to you on the rebound. I HATE this storyline, along with hating Eric and Quinn now, initially really liking their pairing. This is so unlike Eric. All that was left for him to do was get down on his hands and knees. Steffy is incapable of seeing this for what it is, because she is extremely ambitious just like like her Father. This show is truly lost, if they are now going to write characters this damn shallow and clueless, and have Steffy actually fall for this nonsense. For as much as Liam is truly getting on everybody's nerves, I think he is going to end up being right in a horrible way that may not end well.

I love Eric and Quinn together because they deserve to be happy. I hate that they're trying to get Steffy and Wyatt back together. In fact, as much as I hate Liam's perpetual inability to make a decision and stick to it, I want him and Steffy together. I DO NOT want her with Wyatt. (I liked him with Ivy best.)
If Steffy's half as smart as she claims to be, she'll do the right thing and play by Eric's rules, but stay true to the man she loves...today, and the first two times she married him.
What do you think her "scent" smells like? Spencer sperm? 

BINGO! And this is one of the biggest problems on B&B that you don't really see on other soaps - constant character retcons used as plot devices to fit the current story. His father was miles better at staying true to character personality and history.
This story doesn't work because Eric wouldn't behave this way and Steffy would have told them all to fock off eons ago.
He's got Eric so far out of character that people are really starting to wonder if something's wrong with him. If you watch that scene though, Eric wasn't planning on asking Steffy - again - to move into the mansion until Quinn pushed so he really is just her parrot now.
