Eric is pathetic

For years, he's favored Ridge over Thorne and his daughters, especially where Forrester Creations was concerned.

And here he is again favoring both Ridge and Steffy over Thorne, Rick, and Thomas.

Maybe he deserves Quinn and her lunacy.

I agree he seems to favor Steffy more than the rest of his grandchildren, but I don't think you can compare his favoring Ridge over say Rick or Thomas.
Put simply, Ridge has grown up in the company, has been groomed to take over when and if Eric decided to step down, and when it all boils down, has put in more time there than Rick or Thomas, through age alone.
It would be a huge disrespect if one of those had gotten the position over him, and Ridge I am sure is only comfortable with Steffy being in charge because she is his daughter. He wouldn't have been nearly as (almost) passive as he was had say, Rick been given the job.

The only one that should feel left out and neglected is Thorne. He has also grown up working and breathing the company, and really seeing the working side of it. It is all well and good for Ridge to draw pictures, but without all of the departments behind the scene working together they would just be that, pictures. Thorne knows the logistics of the company. He has forged the relationships with the workers there and knows the reality of the day to day operations.

While Ridge was wooing Brooke or whomever it was that caught his eye in the steam room, or the elevator, or the lab, or the office, on work time, Thorne was down in the basement keeping that place running. And what a thankless job that was. Never considerred for anything more than a basement filler, just taken for granted then shipped off to International.

I would love for Thorne to come back, a tougher, take no crap Thorne and demand his rightful place in the company. If not, maybe with the rejevenation of Spectra fashions he can go over there and make it great. Show Eric and Ridge just what they overlooked for so many years.

Haha, he was not only overlooked and neglected by his family, but by the writers od this show too. One of the most underused characters here.

I don't know anything about the guy who plays Thorne, but maybe his extremely limited screen time is what he wants.

Oh absolutely. Windsor Harmon had been playing Thorne for years and maybe it suits him. But in terms of the character Thorne, I feel like if the writers want him more involved and it doesn't fit with windsors schedule then they can always recast. They did it with Ridge.

I would agree if not for one thing...the fashion show. Ridge actively attempted to sabotage the fashion show, which would have caused negative publicity and a decline in sales. No one who does that should even have a job at the company, much less be promoted to CEO about 3 months later.

I find it somewhat amusing that Eric tends to ignore the people who's only "crime" was not going to his wedding while actively promoting the people who orchestrated the boycott AND lied about his Power of Attorney. Perhaps if Rick or Thomas really want to be CEO, they should shove Eric down a flight of stairs and then wait for him to promote them a couple weeks later.

They need to recast then. WH is the 3rd Thorne. If I were writing this show, I would have recast Thorne when the whole Steffy vs. Hope thing was going on. The triangle would have gone between Hope and Aly. Steffy and Hope would have bonded as sisters and Aly would have befriended Amber and Amber and Thorne would have hooked up. Thorne and Ridge would have gone up against each other for their daughters. Fast forward to now, I wouldn't have brought Ridge back. The fight for the company would go between Thorne and Rick. I would even bring a recast in for Marcus and have him and Thorne bond as brothers and go up against Rick. CJ could come back and help Rick because he was still mad on how Thorne treated Macy.

How is Eric being pathetic. People need to grow up! Who cares if Ridge is co-CEO. What is the big deal! Geez!

reply

Sounds more consistent with the writing than pathetic.

It's my understanding that the character of Thorne has expressed no interest in actually running the company, PLUS they write him as being in charge of one of their overseas operations, don't they?? Seems to work well and be believable, with him just popping in from time to time. It makes perfect sense that a family member would oversea other locations.
