Eric Nesterenko

Eric Nesterenko has his name on the Stanley Cup. He played for the
Chicago Blackhaks when they won the cup in 1961.

What's funny is that when they show him on the ice, he skates like some beer league hack...

He gives the best performance in the movie, and he's not even an actor.

Well, IMO Lauter was excellent as a coach. He reminded me of my coaches. Lowe acted like a real player and Youngs was really good too, really good. I thought Gibb was good, but I may have been influenced more by her appearance than performance...

Eric Nesterenko was the best thing about this movie. He stole every scene he was in. He was awesome on the ice. He was a fine player with the Chicago Blackhawks (#15). He had a strange skating style which helped make him memorable. I hope life was kind to him.

I'm originally from NW IN and started to follow hockey and the Blackhawks about 1960 because of Nesterenko's more taleted teammates Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita. Neterenko was an above average defensive forward and penalty killer.
