The tequila shots prank. A similar incident happened in real life.

Anybody who has watched Youngblood should know about the hazing incident where the Mustang players got together at a bar. The players kept ordering rounds of tequila. The veteran players didn't actually drink much tequila (the movie only showed the veterans drinking one shot each), while Dean got wasted from downing shot after shot. The veteran players were pretending that they were about to drink the shots of tequila only to dump the tequila out over their shoulders. There was a real life incident where New York Jets wide receiver Johnny "Lam" Jones was hazed by his teammates during Jones' rookie NFL season in 1980. Jones was being given shots of hard liquor, while his teammates were drinking non-alcoholic shots. Here's a link to an article that mentions this hazing incident.
