Where did this take place?
Somesome said Kansas, but that doesn't seem right. I live in Kansas City, Missouri, and if that was true, that would be the closest inner city like that depicted in the film.

Having just watched it again, I think I know what your mix-up is. The line, "You know, I don't think we're in Kansas any more" is a reference to "The Wizard of Oz".

The After Dark club was downtown Los Angeles, where the frat house was is anyone's guess.
"Light. Dark. What's the difference?" Day Watch.
It was filmed in LA, ca---I recognized the streets and buildings in the background. The frat scenes were filmed in USC--not too far from where the street scenes where filmed.
shareI could totally tell it was filmed in LA, downtown still looks like that & there actually are businesses that lock up tight when it starts to get dark - but not because of vampires, lol. But where was the movie supposed to be based at? AJ said something about being 200 miles from civilization so we're supposed to presume that they're going to some college in the middle of nowhere - most likely in the Midwest. I knew the Toto/Kansas reference was just an allusion to "The Wizard of Oz," but I wouldn't be surprised if the movie was supposed to be set in some boring state like KS, OH, MO, etc.

I think it was supposed to be set in Kansas. In the guys dorm room, up above the door is a college pennant that says "Kansas". Plus it's mentioned they're 200 miles from civilization. It was shot in L.A., but whatever. I can't believe I used to like this movie. I watched it last night, it's one of the worst movies ever made. Terrible in all aspects, and Chris Makepeace couldn't act his way out of a drive-thru.
shareThen why did you even come to the page?
Get out of here with stupid trolling.

I still love this movie 20+ yrs later. I was in downtown LA a couple of years ago on a Saturday & when the sun started to set, all the fabric vendors starting bringing in their racks & the streets got all deserted & I immediately thought of this movie. LOVE IT!!!
