Glimpse of 'The Fog'!!!

I just added this to the trivia section, but I figured I'd share it here for fellow horror fans; I've seen this movie about 100 times and just noticed something for the first time. In the scene in Roger's house (after he retrieves the tape from Tim's car) where Sammi appears in his living room, Sammi makes the T.V. flip rapidly through several channels. If you look really quick (or pause it), particularly on the way back up the channels, you can see a scene from John Carpenter's "The Fog" - the scene with Stevie in the radio station where the driftwood leaks & catches fire. There's a quick shot of the driftwood with "Dane" written on it - for the ghost ship Elizabeth Dane. Just thought I'd share this cool bit of trivia for fans of both movies like myself.

Nice catch. If you step through that sequence frame-by-frame, you may also notice clips from John Carpenter's "Escape From New York" and the original "Prom Night". All three films were Avco-Embassy releases, to which DEG (De Laurentiis Entertainment Group, the producing company and distributor of "Trick Or Treat") briefly held some rights to during that period. Very cool.

Neat! I didn't notice the others. I knew that The Fog was Avco-Embassy (I owned 2 or 3 VHS copies in the past), and even wondered why DEG would use that as opposed to a clip from one of their own. Great stuff!
