Is this the movie where there's a scene in a car where a girl is listening to music on headphones from a cassette player and the music melts her ears? If it is, I've been looking for this movie for about 25 years after seeing it at a friends house on tape from HBO or one of those pay per view stations.

yep, this is the very film...although I don't think it was her ears that melted (although I thought that the first time I saw it)....it was the earpieces from the headphones that melted to her ears

Yes, 27 years later and that's the scene I still remember. Fine beauty Elise Richards played that girl. She only appeared in the 1987 film Valet Girls after that.

Cheers for that! I taped it off the Horror Channel last night, and it missed about 5 mins in the last third.
