The first court scene - where did they get the footage of enterprise?

In the first court scene, where the Klingon ambassador was showing the 'video' to everyone, where did they get that footage of the enterprise being self destructed.....from space?

Seems like they just put a VHS tape of Star Trek III...

But this has happened across all ST series. Things are viewed from the cameraman's perspective. Even when the characters are shown to be watching like log videos from a ship, etc.

This is one of those things which are completely ill-thought and neglected throughout the series and has always bugged me.

Too bad they did nothing to improve that in the motion pictures.

This is like the Holodeck or the combadges in TNG.

Don't think about it 

I'm just on my way up to Clavius.

The same place Kirk and Sarek got the footage of Spock's death in The Search For Spock, which basically looked like they were watching The Wrath Of Khan.

Smartphone cameras are really, really good in the 23rd century.

Seriously though, in TMP the Epsilon 9 station was able to get an exterior shot of the Klingon battle against the intruder, and no explanation is really given. It's space magic!

It's like watching TV shows where security footage is surprisingly observational.

VHS

Or maybe Nimoy demonstrated the laserdics to them.

In as much as this is one of my favorite Star Trek movies, this is one thing that has always bugged me. How does anyone know what happened at Genesis at all? Anyone who was there is either dead or on Vulcan. So where did they get their info?

Maybe Krug sent his log back to the officials on Qo'nos right before he transported down to Genesis?
