The Original Six Films As IMDB Rated Today...

As we stand today, IMDB voters (both loyal fans AND casual watchers, both original viewers AND latter “discoverers” - though ALL with the benefit of hindsight!) of the original six “Star Trek” movies currently rate the films as follows…

1. Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Kahn = 7.7
2. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home = 7.3
3. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country = 7.2
4. Star Trek III: The Search For Spock = 6.6
5. Star Trek: The Motion Picture = 6.4
6. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier = 5.4

As a “Star Trek” fan since a child-in-the-70s who has followed and loved the franchise for its ups and downs and all that came subsequent and since to-this-day, I have to say that considering everything (storyline, direction, performances, effects, score, entertainment-value, franchise-respect etc.)… I think this rating and placing is fairly accurate and actually fair!

THIS is exactly how I would place the films in my heart and preference - though collectively of course… I love them ALL!

Please tell me you didn't post this to every Star Trek movie board...

Eh NO I didn't post it to every "Star Trek" movie board (there are 13 in all - if you include the forthcoming film) - but well you've obviously spotted that YES I did indeed post it to the first six...to which my subject matter relates (and to fans of each individually as I am curious of their thoughts). And?

Well done! As long as Khan is first, lol... good list!

I'm glad to see The Voyage Home near the top, because that is indeed quite enjoyable. The Wrath of Khan, however, is among the worst, in my opinion. I can't see why people like Khan so much. The Motion Picture should be higher.

Swap 3 and 4 and I can live with that

Exactly how I have them ranked too, though Wrath of Khan should be in the 8s in my opinion. Search For Spock should be in the lower 7s.

seems about right.
