Wasn't this the first film to use morphing?


I was reading an article on Willow that claimed that Willow was the first film that ever used morphing, then I remembered the time travel dream sequence from this film (made two years earlier). Surely this is the earliest example of morphing on film, not Willow.

Maybe Willow is the first use of morphing in regards to using photo-realistic animals and people? The scene in Trek IV isn't dealing with the cast themselves, but merely likenesses...they look like sculptures. Was it even done using a computer?
