I was just watching this again this morning, and I couldn't believe how long Tish's "belt" was. In the part where they're trying to get Max into the space suit, Kathryn tells Tish to take off her belt to cinch in some extra material. Next shot is Max with a good 6-7 ft. of BELT wrapped around him!!! I can't believe I never noticed this before, but WTF?
Yeah I know!!! Ever since my older sister mentioned it once years ago, it always comes into my mind at this scene. It SO wouldn't have been that long around her waist.
"Oh my God - it even has a watermark" (Patrick Bateman - American Psycho)
We just watched this again (1.00 DVD at WalMart) and that belt scene always cracks me up. Yes, it's got to be at least 25 feet of "belt", it's wrapped around every part of his body, even his feet...stuff like that always amazes me, I just can't believe that the director wouldn't stop and say, "You know, guys, no one's going to buy that this 25 feet of bright orange canvas strapping came from a belt around the waist of Kelly Preston."
But I guess there are more pressing issues to worry about in this crazy ol' world of ours....
Take care and God Bless.
"De gustibus non disputandum est." (Latin) There is no disputing taste.
That would make sense, except for the fact that no one else mentions using a belt and she's the only one seen wearing a bright orange belt.....
Maybe superman gave them extra, I mean, we didn't see him or even hear mention of him the whole film, but I guess that's as plausible as the rest of the "Crew" magivally sprouting orange canvas belts from their orificies...
When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?
I was also gonna say maybe they also had the same belts and just joined them together. I'd have to watch it again to say for sure. Unless she just had that belt wrapped around her about 15 times.
They used all of their belts, but the dialog does mislead one to think it's only Tish's belt. Tish was just always the first one eager to remove articles of clothing.

In the 80's double wrap belts were a trend. I had one myself. They were super long and could be wrapped around your waist twice before cinching. It's possible people also triple wrapped them.
