I remember a fellow who tried to achieve what was the highlight of this movie by injecting a solution into his blood stream to dye his skin pigmentation. It worked but he wound up ill and died from poisoning. Can anyone find this info and send it to me? Thanx.

Incidentally, I had already found out in Snopes.com of the White Novelist John Howard Griffin. Though the "death of cancer" was a rumor by hateful antagonists, Mr. Griffin of the 1950's is the real life Soul Man.
