Background Details
I've probably seen this movie two dozen times since it got released on home video in '87, but watching it today, I noticed a few small details for the first time:
* Audrey's mom's little dog wears a bandage-wrap on one of his front legs, as if for a sprain or a break. Odd touch.
* The number of guys who give Jeff Daniels a thumbs-up gesture as he enters the reunion with Melanie Griffith. Amusing.
* The reunion band's singer on the cover of Bowie's "Fame" sings with a slight lisp. Guess I'd always paid more attention to Daniels' goofy dancing to notice.
* The nun at the reunion, chatting with others in the crowd while wearing the reunion's stars-and-stripes hat atop her cowl.
I'm sure there are other background details I missed. This is still one of my all-time favorites from the Eighties. The whole cast is perfect, but Ray Liotta's dynamite; he should've won that damn Golden Globe for this performance.
