Song help

Anybody know the name of the song on the radio in the convenience store when Ray smacks the clerk with the gun?

reply

Try putting the captions on in the movie - those 80's movies sometimes said what band was playing in the backround. let me know, if not I have the soundtrack on CD & it may be on there.

Total Control by the Motels form the album The Motels, classic.

The score for the film is what everyone here seems to be impressed with. I was looking around and the score is actually done by David Byrne, Brian Eno and Laurie Anderson. So sick! The only problem is that I can't find it anywhere. I don't actually think that the score was actually released, just the soundtrack(which I'm not sure if you've heard or not, but is not nearly as good). If anyone wants to record the score, I'd be super happy.

Good luck finding it!

Anyone know if there's a version of Walk on the Wild Side at the end of the film? It's been years, but I seem to remember that. If so, any leads on who sang it? Thanks.

reply

Awesome! There's a version by Tina Turner that I first heard on the "We Are the World" album. Really a killer cut.

When Lulu is driving in the car just after she picks up Charlie, she plays her boombox - any idea what song (or the artist)? It's sort of a caribbean or reggae beat and I don't think there are lyrics, just sort of an "Oooohhh, Ahhh," over and in time with the music.

The name of the song is "Ooh! Aah!" and it is by a reggae group called the Fabulous Five aka Fab Five. The song can be found on their Greatest Hits Album as well as the soundtrack from "CountryMan".

Thank You Master!!! That has been a mystery for a loooong time! I hope I can get it on iTunes!!!

The haunting background music from Laurie Anderson is brilliant as well.

I want to add my thanks to the other posters. The soundtrack album CD that came out for the movie contained some nice alternative music: Fine Young Cannibals and others, but no 'sound track' and not Ooh Aah'

I bought the cassette version of the soundtrack years ago and was disappointed that some of the best songs were left off the soundtrack.

Someone posted a video with the song 'Wozani Mahipi' imbedded in it on YouTube and I was able to extract an MP3 from it.

I just found Fabulous Five's 'Ooh! Aah!' on YouTube as well....

i JUST SAW MARTHA DAVIS AND THE MOTELS THIS MONTH AND SHE DID "TOTAL CONTROL' IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

It was one of the best songs in the film- shame it's not on the soundtrack. I don't know 'The Motels' but will buy cd for this song as I've just identified it! I heard it in a cd store in Australia (-I'm now back in England-) earlier this year so had the chance to grab it then too!

Anyone knows the song playing right after Lulu buys the new car? After she says to the salesman "How about Mr. Franklin's?" and shows him the money.
Thanks
