I just saw this for the first time tonight

I love the 80's and this movie definitely captures the 80's in a very good way. It was a very nostalgic ride throughout. The movie itself isn't all that great though. It's just very silly and not much depth to it. Jeff Daniels is usually good but in this one he was rather annoying and so was Melanie. The man who made the movie was Ray Liotta. If the movie had ended with him killing Jeff and Melanie then the movie would've been much better.

I saw it when it came out. I think it helped to be in the zeitgeist. All those cameos, songs, and pop culture references wove a rich tapestry of niche culture chic in 1986, which might not stand up as well 30 years later.

I liked this movie a lot. I find it to be very timeless.

This movie is such an adrenaline rush! Definitely a gem!

The man who made the move was Jonathan Demme.
He's the one who should be remembered.

Ray killing Mel and Jeff is a pretty effed up thought, but -- okay.
That's about you
