Question about the official DVD release

I brought a copy from FleshWoundVideo.com a few months ago, and it is the uncut version but was transferred from VHS onto DVD. Does the new official release have good picture/sound quality? Just wanting to know if I should buy it again! Thanks

Stick with the version you have. The Lionsgate DVD is a direct transfer from the old Vestron VHS and the only real extra is a "trivia track" that barely talks about the movie. Most of it is inane crap like "A joint typically contains what drug?"

Didn't you hear about the new german release? Sharpest picture and widescreen Transfer. The movie looks so brilliant on this disc. :)

thats true. as they said: us-dvd is only vhs-quality.

I agree, the German DVD is definitely the best out there. The 16x9 widescreen transfer looks superb, and the bit-rate is maxed on a dual-layer disc. It makes the R1 Lionsgate DVD look like, well...crap!

I personally am glad it looks like a VHS transfer, that way I can still get the nostalgia rush while watching it.

reply

Sounds like a great transfer, though I've heard it's the R-rated version??

reply

Nope. Unrated cut.

Are you referring to the german release now? I am, and I've heard it's cut unfortunately!
