I know there have been a lot of discussions about the ending and i get that it was all in martys head and he dreamt it all up but what confuses me is why do the ghosts pop out if they were not really dead and it was a dream and then theres that creepy thing marty does when he pulls his face off, whats that all about? Was that him planning on taking his revenge? Does someone wanna help me clarify this part? :(
shareI know you probably wont read this since this post is 5 years old...but the ghosts of the dead bodies are all a part of his dream. He dreams about revenge on all of them and gets it, but in the back of his subconscious mind, he knows they are still the bullies, therefore he dreams of them still "bullying" him. As far as what he does with his face at the end, theres really no explanation for it other than its just for horror movie effect.
shareHE pulls his face off at the end out of pure RAGE...he doesn't care what he looks like now, what's done is done, I like to think that he escaped the hospital and went after the gang for REAL...if he didn't then he would just end up in prison for murder...
