I saw it last night for the first time in 25 years.

It aged remarkably well, but some factual errors really freak me out. X-Ray Spex with a rail thin, model type singing? The Bill Grundy TV incident during Sid's time with the band?
The thing is, the performances from Chloe Webb and Gary Oldman are pretty amazing. I had a serious problem with this movie when I saw it (opening night in 1986). I was a huge fan of the Pistols and thought them sacred. My mind is more open to this now, and I am wonder how the actors got such little recognition for the work in this.
This and Blue Velvet are the best films of 1986.

I just saw this last night, and haven't seen it since the 80's.I agree with you about the performances of Chloe Webb and Gary Oldman. It's amazing how those two actors still make you care about Sid and Nancy. Two rare performances,in the same film, that go beyond acting and simply become.

I probably haven't seen it in 10 years, but I saw it on-demand last night and I reacted like you did, sluggo66, at X-ray Spex. That sure wasn't Poly-styrene.

I had no idea what Poly Styrene looked like at the time I first saw the film, so it didn't make any difference to me. On the other hand, how do we know they were supposed to be the X-Ray Specs - maybe it was a cover band doing "Bondage".

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.
