Subtitles
Why aren't there any English subtitles?
shareWhy aren't there any English subtitles?
I think there are purposely no subtitles, and the film is all-the-better for it. It makes it very effective, and realistic. The point of this film is to put you right into it. I just saw this movie on IFC, and missed the beginning, but I think Oliver Stone pictured the viewer to be some invisible american in El Salvador at this time. You are not supposed to know what is going on most of the time. THis being a realistic movie is obviously going to have many rambles in Spanish. I don't speak it, but I'm pretty sure most of it was irrelevant to the storyline.
I didn't know Stone directed this movie until I came here, but while I was watching it I was like 'this is amazing directing' and can anyone be better for this role than James Woods.
