Why was this called 'Running Scared'?

I keep watching the movie on DVD and even when it came out back in '86 and I still can't figure out why it was given that title. In what way Hines and Crystal were running scared? The two were funny but courageous, they weren't running from anyone or anything.

They were scared of getting killed just before they could retire to a life in paradise, Key West. So, the conflict in the story comes from them not really wanting to go all out to take Julio down, but knowing that they have to, in order to get the job done. Kinda like in Carlito's Way, where Carlito should have probably offed Benny Blanco, but didn't because he didn't want to risk blowing his chance at paradise and a safe life. Kill Benny Blanco=back to prison.

Another reason for the title was because naming a film after a hit song from the 50s and 60's was a popular trend. Running Scared was a hit for Roy Orbison.

Do you think he wants some cheese?
