fake snow..
Is the fake snow in all the scenes fire truck foam?
shareThe fake snow was really, really, reaaally bad. There's one scene where there's just a little splash of it halfway up a light pole.
sharePlus there are leaves on the trees (and they are green).
shareGrass was very green showing through which looked more fake to add to the green leaves on trees but I noticed in several scenes moisture was coming out of their mouths when they breathed and talked so it had to be fairly cold out when they were shooting instead of it being in the spring/summer.
shareNever really caught my eye in any other scene, but the funeral. The snow on the tree trunk especially looked like melted Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man splatter.

What the hell is Brett Favre doing here?
Totally fake snow. Saw them filming in downtown Skokie on Oakton. The scene just before they turn onto tracks. Curbs and center of street were lined with fake snow.
shareHorrible fake snow, all clumped like that. Although "green grass and leaves" means nothing. Last weekend, our cherry tree bloomed, it was close to 70 degrees, and had been high pretty much since February. Things were blooming, people were starting to water their lawns, etc. Then on Wednesday, we got 10" of snow, more than the entire year combined to that point.
So yeah, you can have snow on green grass, but the splotchy spray foam definitely looked fake. Snow doesn't fall that way. The only place you might see that is on things next to the sidewalk when the plow goes by, and even that has to be the right conditions. I'm pretty sure they didn't plow the cemetery, though, so that's not it.
