Helena Bonham Carter totally checks out...

... all of the guys junk in the swimming scene. You can see her eyeline when Julian Sands jumps in front of them and when they come across Rupert Graves in the bush. Must have been a great day for her on set lol. This was a hilarious scene.

We just watched a documentary on this film and she mentions she was just 18 and the kissing scene was strange for her because she really hadn't kissed boys before. So that must have been really new for her.

That scene is one of my favorites. Lucy laughing. What a gorgeous movie.

I saw that one too! I love that they cast an actual 18 year old (and one that could act), instead of a 28 year old awkwardly trying to seem younger. That can work on stage, but almost never in a film.

Her acting was not the greatest here -- she is the first to admit it -- but the character is young and she was not that different from the character so it all kind of works.

That's what the character would really have done as well. When they shoot these scenes it never goes right the first time so they shoot them over and over before they decide everything is right. This one probably at least 4-5 times, if not more. Some scenes they will shoot dozens of times before they're happy. So she had to check them out the same way every time. I'm sure she was more than bored with the view by the end.
