one of the greats.

reform school girls is one of the great movies of the 80's. done in a nice john waters style reform school girls is great! I dont think the average rating on this movie reflects its true value. Besides any movie that has Wendy O Willams in it just has to be great.

reply

It was great because it didn't take itself seriously, unlike a lot of bad movies try to do. They knew that it was a B movie and had fun with it.

Because sponges never have bad days.

reply

Sadly, it DID take itself too seriously. That was its problem.

reply

No way did it take itself seriously. Pure camp all the way. It was a take-off on all the old "women in prison" and "bad girl" films like
"Caged" and "Born Innocent".

reply

It has been so long since I have seen this movie that I do not even remember the movie I hate to say it. I remember the name of the movie but I cannot remember in watching it though. To be honest with you.

Well, when the heroine was getting tortured to the point of crying, or when another innocent girl fell to her death, I guess it was so campy I forgot to laugh.

Pure camp, with nudity thrown in so it would draw an audience.

reply

I'm just surprised that Joan of Arc liked this movie too. Who woulda' thunk?

My body's a cage, it's been used and abused...and I...LIKE IT!!

reply

Agreed. This film is a very lively and inspired parody of the chicks-in-chains exploitation sub-genre, with excellent enthusiastic performances by Sybil Danning, Pat Ast, and, most of all, Wendy O. Williams.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!
