And the award for Best Overacting for 1986 goes to... Pat Ast... i.e. right after the infamous cat scene... and "Complete Control!!!!!!"

She was amazing. It works for this film, which is just ludicrous and OTT from the very start. I mean you're watching a film about a reform school where all the girls are walking around in hot lingerie and high heel shoes... the hammy acting is the least of it's problems!
