Uncle Frank and the contest
A real funny part is the whole bit involving George's Uncle Frank, who is in his room all summer listening to a radio show in an attempt to win 1 million dollars by being the 50th caller when he hears a certain jingle. Here is the weird thing that Frank doesn't get: Since the contest is going on all summer, he really doesn't have to sit there all the time. He could've waited until summer's end, which was probably when they would play the jingle. Also, he would have to pay taxes on the winnings, so he wouldn't have 1 million dollars anyway.
One final thought: This film is directed by Savage Steve Holland, who also created the Whammies on Press Your Luck. Think he thought of the contestant Michael Larson as the inspiration for Frank?
