Does anybody have a copy?

I LOVE this movie and I usually watch it every year on TV. Unfortunately, it hasn't aired the last two years. If anyone owns this and is willing to sell a copy, PLEASE let me know! Thanks!

Are you still looking for a copy? I have a version that has Tony Randall explaining and setting up scenes. I, too, watched every year and just knew they would cease broadcasting it. So I made it a point to record it about 4 years ago on SP speed. I don‘t remember the Tony Randall inserts in it before that but, oh, well, they were helpful and interesting to me. I didn't stop the tape to cut out the first commercial break but I did on all the succeeding ones.

If you want it, I will mail you a copy. No charge. Just let me know where to mail it.

Hi there!

I'm also looking for a copy and haven't found one yet. Would it be possible for you to send me a copy as well? My entire family usually likes to watch it once Christmas rolls around but this year our copy was destroyed. My email is [email protected]

I will gladly pay you for it. Hope to hear from you!

Sincerely, Azien M.

I found a few copies on Amazon.com but only on VHS and the last time I checked they were around $30. or more.

I found some used VHS copies on Amazon for $20. I found it on Ebay too. In fact, this past Christmas I found the DVD on Ebay. I haven't seen it since early December, but it could turn up again next holiday season.
The trick is, if you buy the tape you have to make sure it's the right kind. Amazon was selling some that only play on European machines. AND this review I just read says that some are selling VHS copies of the original, so be careful of that too. Copies like that don't always turn out so well.

I recorded it off Family Channel the last time they aired it.

It is on DVD here through MGM Archives: http://www.oldies.com/product-view/2344ED.html

Watching it as I type and recording it from MGM HD.Be glad to send you a DVD from my recording. Let me know, contact me and it can be in the mail almost immediately.

PLEASE, other readers, don't ask me for a disk of other things. This is an offer for this production to people wanting THIS item only. I am not in the business of supplying disks but I will for this item. In fact I am not in any business at all .... I am old and retired. I just like beauty and this production is that.

I was planning on recording it from Ovation network this week when it airs and creating a DVD, but I was curious how the version you captured looked. Did it look pretty high quality and, I guess, HD? I'm curious if they rescanned the film for that release, or if it was just a upconversion of the old source used for VHS and, presumably the one I will record off of Ovation. Also, any chance it was widescreen? I see it was shot at 1.85:1 ratio, so presumably they could get a widescreen version out if they rescanned.

Like many, I've been hoping for a pristine version of this for a long time (more for my family really, we've now gone through 2 legitimate copies of the VHS!) If we can't buy it on DVD (or even VHS) then I suppose we just have to help ourselves with Fair Use.

Actually, for a long time, we had a VHS of the film that was recorded off of some Christmas special right around the beginning of the nineties. This has always been my favorite Christmas film and it always will be. Some years ago, the tape pretty much died, mostly because my sisters and I would watch close to three times a day during the holidays. Last year, however, it came back to my mind, and I just happened to have an eBay gift card, and I found it in DVD format. Go to eBay and look for it there. Hope this helps!

The PNB sells the DVD on their online store!

I know the original post is ancient in terms of internet time, but I just watched the movie on Netflix, if that helps anyone.
