You think it's good?

Well I wouldn't rewatch it anytime soom but it is actually a decent movie. There is this tension that I can't really explain going around it.

This is one of a few movies I really cannot evaluate without prejudice because I hate it so much. I hated it back in the 80s and I hate it now. So no, I don't think it's good - Basinger is overrated, Rourke is sleazy, the food scene is repulsive, the whole movie is just a typical 80s pseudo-erotic schlock. I could go on and on for hours talking about how I hate it, but probably that's enough!

It is ok. Rourke's character is a creepy weirdo and Basinger's is like if it didn't develop mentally past 14 years of age. The whole interaction between them is unconvincing. You can add to this some over the top scenes, topping my cringe list is the food scene.

What worked is the music, the sets, the lighting, the camera. And of course we all like Rourke and Basinger and it is fun to watch them, but at some point starts to feel like a Rourkexploitation.
