The scene in the movie which reminded me of famous music video

I looked at other threads on this board but couldn't find one like this.
The scene when Adso first goes to explore the monastery and then comes to a secret door with scary statues in front of it. This scene strongly reminded me of the music video of 'Sadeness' by Enigma. I know that the music video was released in 1990 I think (long after 'The Name of The Rose' movie was made) and inspired by the French writer etc and I know that the movie 'Name of The Rose' is based on a book by a totally different writer [I haven't read the 'Name of The Rose' novel]. So was that just a coincidence? Please let me know, I'm curious :)
