Very challenging book to read
But very rewarding. You have to stop to look up words every 5 minutes, terms very specific to abbeys. Very interesting!
shareHeartily agreed, teal. Even though many terms in the book went beyond me, and I had to keep diving for a dictionary or encyclopaedia, it was still a joy to read -- for the concept, for the conceit, and for Eco's sheer love of language.
