hey guys. i've never seen this movie. can someone tell me how it ends tho? i was just wondering how the movie ends. thanks.

It ends with the preacher shooting Allie after Allie had set fire to the church. The family escapes on the raft and heads downstream towards the ocean. We presume that Allie dies soon afterwards.

it ends with Allies second "experiment" washed to sea but rescued by Mr Hatti who smuggles spark plugs to the family unbenownst to Allie. As they use the new implements (Charlie says he found them)with the old outboard motor to push upstream they dock at the reverends church and Allie steals gas (and burns down the church) but is shot in the chest by the reverend. Allie is paralised from the neck down (apparently) and asks if they are going upstream (he earlier says "dead things go downstream and we aren't dying" or something like that) and Mother replies that they are indeed going upstream. The camera pans out as Allie dies and it is revealed they are going downstream and about to enter the ocean and back to the USA. - I skipped some steps but i think this is the ending pretty consice maybe not im tired nighty night
