Jungle scene

Hey guys, remember the scene where River is in the jungle with the kids and he's telling his brother not to tell Father about this (don't really remeber what thing they were planning, selling smth for a buck, don't remember exactly, lol). I hope I don't sound corny and superficial, but he was so beautifully tanned and his eyes so amazing blue-green that I remember the first time I saw that I looked at him in amazement. I mean, oh my God, have I seen somebody more gorgeous? He's just fantastic! And a terrific actor all the way. Was anybody else "hypnotised" by that scene :p?

I thought the exact same thing alexandratzy when I watched this movie!! The way the camera catches River in this scene is amazing. He looks great!! I enjoyed watching him in this movie (just as I do in every other movie of his:). I'm glad you pointed this out because I felt the same, but just wasn't sure how to put it into words. Thanks!

It's the same in River's last scene in SBM, he looks so gorgeous and tanned and the lighting makes him look almost angelic. He really was such a beautiful person.

You are so right, the last scene in SBM just takes my breath away. He's like shining in there, fantastic human being (and come to think of it, he was just a kid there)... Yeah, such a beautiful human, a rare, powerful beauty, like no other.

Yeah, the way the camera catches him in those two scenes were amazing. I remember the first time I saw him in any movie, I was watching Running On Empty on TV, and I didn't want to watch it at first because my parents picked it out (I was only seven, so you know how it is. Lol) And when I saw river, I was just mezmerized, and i was only 7! I didn't even LIKE boys yet, and I remember just being amazed at how gorgeous he was.
After that, i hadn't seen him again until i was looking though all of the DVDs we have at my house, and I found Stand By Me. I watched it and fell in love all over again. Since then, I've been watching river phoenix movies non-stop. Aand i only found stand by me about 3 months ago... maybe 4.
and i'm 14, so seven years after the first time i saw River, I see him again and hes still amazing!
So sad that he died, he was cool.
